2 years Dr Stevens

2 years... and boy has it flown by... 2 years ago i was hooked up to a bunch of machines in the hospital and my poor husband was wondering if i was going to make it or not. I often feel like a broken record when talking about my bowels twisting and i am sure everyone is sick of hearing about it. So i will keep this brief. 

     Brock and i had a hard decision to make when it came to deciding if we were going to have more children or not. Obviously we decided to go ahead and give it a shot. and so far so good. I feel so blessed to be married to Brock and to have Grace as our little girl. She amazes me every day. We have been so grateful for the prayers that have been in our behalf with this pregnancy. I went and saw Dr stevens this week  for our yearly get together and i just have to say he is one of the best men out there. As I walked up to his office he was in the waiting room talking to a patient and getting their cell number so that he could personally check on something for them and then call them and let them know the results. There just aren't that many doctors around that would go through that much effort for one patient. and I was once again reminded of the effort that he put forth on me, he should have closed me up and signed my death certificate.......but thank heavens he didn't!!!!! I think those of us that are in the healthcare field sometimes loose our compassion. Its one of the worst things that happens. somewhere between caring for your patient outcomes and trying to "get the job done" it slowly disappears. I love working in the NICU and I hope i never loose my compassion because lets be honest who can look at a baby and not just love them?? ----back to dr stevens--- as soon as he recognized me (new hair& pregnant) he came and gave me a big hug!! He showed me pictures of his grandchildren and even tried to get me to come work with him. I know he was busy and i didn't have a scheduled appointment but he took the time to talk and catch up with me anyway. -- a couple of weeks ago i was really nervous because it was about the time i started twisting with grace-- I expressed my concern with dr stevens and he told me to not even let it worry me, that if anything were to come up he would be there to help. He eased my worries once again. I am so grateful that I got him as my doctor, I am so grateful to his family to be so supportive of him so that he can be the compassionate, hardworking man that he is. I feel so blessed to be here another year and that i get to raise the sweetest little girl and (hopefully) another NICE one in January. This last year has been so much fun getting to be a mom. It is the best thing in the world. There are times when i want to pull my hair out and don't think i can take another second of it but then i get a hug or a kiss or an i love you from her and everything is ok. I am so excited for this next year and can't wait for what new adventures it brings. !!!! 

We DID IT !!!

I am now on my 24th week of pregnancy and I finally feel like I can breathe a little bit. During my pregnancy with Grace my bowels started twisting around weeks 22-23 and although I am only a week past that we couldn't be happier !!! Now my next goal is 30 weeks so here is to hoping the next 6 weeks go well........




It has been forever since I have blogged and quite frankly I have no excuses. I haven't worked for about  2-3 months because we have been so slow, which is good because that means nobody is having sick babies but bad for my purse !!! I have enjoyed the extra time that i have got to spend with Grace, even though when i worked i wasn't gone that much I feel like these last couple of months we have had a lot of fun.

We ate lots of popsicles and went boating 

we went to the park and enjoyed chick-fil a shakes 

Visited the zoo LOTS of times

Went to the park and played on ALL of the toys

ate and ate some more yummy food and treats

went for hikes

celebrated daddys birthday

picked our tomatoes a "little" early

went to aunt edens wedding !

Since the leaves started changing colors we decided it would be a good time to get some pictures of grace. Out of all the pictures that we took ( and there were hundreds of them) these are the only ones that she was looking at the camera. 

Of course we had to throw in some of those artsy ones--- i feel like this is how i always see Grace though she is always running off to her next activity (aka mess)

Busy summer

I know we haven't posted much but it's because we have been having such a fun summer!! When things slow down we will catch up.. Hope everybody is enjoying this fabulous weather

well we have had a pretty uneventful time lately and we aren't complaining !!  This little one has kept me busy. Just as soon as i think that i have something cleaned up she has gone behind me and undone all my doing 

everyday grace will come and get me to open up the door for her so she can sit and watch for brock to get home. SHE LOVES HER DADDY 

 We have been spending ALOT of our time out side in the sprinklers and pool This girl loves it

a Couple of weeks ago Addi got to come play with us. We went out to dinner  which was an interesting experience with 2 kids 

  Took a couple of baths

 These two are so cute together Grace will do something that she thinks is funny and then look at Addi for approval and Addi is always so sweet to grace.

We took them to the city creek playground and grace absolutely LOVES IT she runs around like crazy and plays hard. this was at about 9PM (way past her bedtime) and she still wanted to play. notice that she is all red and a bit sweaty !! 

Grace is so so cute when she eats and as i was looking through my pictures most of them are of her in her highchair because that is the only time that she sits still.. OH WE LOVE HER 

We made some play dough because it was a rainy day and Addi taught grace how to make cookies with it  but that they weren't really good to eat.

We did some raised gardens this year Grace loved riding in the wheelbarrow and helping scoop the dirt

We have a cupboard that we keep all of our DVDs in and i put a rubber band around it to keep grace out. the keeping out part didn't work but once she got her head in there she couldn't get out. 

We made a trip to the zoo with our friends Riley and Molly 

The girls favorite part was the merry go round and the playground

Riley is older then Grace  but is so cute to her. These two girls are a lot of like they are busy busy busy !

Grace just went in april to get her 15 month check up

Grace is so fun at this age she is giving lots of hugs and kisses says hi and bye when people come and go. she can say mama, dad,hey, love you, num num , please, dog, ball, balloon, baby, Brock, patty cake. She has started trying to sing and copy you if you changes notes. She can throw things in the garbage when told,  blow kisses, climb on everything, fold her arms for the prayer, play patty cake, she loves to push her baby in the stroller. she knows the sounds a cow, horse, dog cat, duck, lion, pig, sheep make and so many other things that i am missing.  she is so funny and loves the attention of an audience to clap and laugh for her.
